from the iPhone near disaster department #almostOHNOES!!!
I was walking out of the PO today with the little read lunch bag that I use to carry my postal accoutrements (pens, gloves, pepper spray, scissors, hand lotion, etc...) slung over my shoulder. I had placed my iPhone in the bag, which is what I always used to do with the iPod touch.
Without warning, the strap slipped off my shoulder, gravity pulled the pouch instantly downward and the iPhone plus a pair of scissors flew up and out of the bag as it bounced off my hip. I caught the phone.
It was only when I got to the car that I noticed that the scissor blades had also caught the phone as you can see from the picture.
All I have to say is thank goodness for the little film that sacrificed itself and saved the glass! There's not a scratch on the glass itself, but there's a nice little hole in the protective film.
So now I'm off to Best Buy to get some replacement films and my iPhone is not going in that bag again. I'll have it in my hand or my pocket from now on.
Phew.
